Matching Shirt Colour Across 40 Schools, Three Years of Reorders

A school-uniform group sourcing for 40 campuses needed the same shirt shade to hold across every annual reorder, not just the first batch.

The challenge

A uniform group supplying a 40-school network was seeing visible shade drift between their first order and reorders placed a year later, enough that new students stood out next to returning ones on the same campus.

Our approach

We matched their existing shirt fabric to a reference swatch and locked the dye recipe against it rather than approving each new batch by eye.
Every reorder is dyed against that same locked recipe and checked with a lab dip before the bulk lot is run, so drift is caught before weaving, not after delivery.
We keep a physical reference swatch on file at the mill so a reorder placed three years later still has the same baseline to match against.

Outcome

Three reorder cycles in, new and returning students wear the same shade of shirt, and the group no longer needs to re-approve colour on every repeat order.
