We are a mill, not a trading house. Greige cloth for police uniform programs is woven on our own looms at Village Atoon, Bhilwara, and dyeing, processing and finishing run through partnered Bhilwara processing houses we have worked with for years. Bhilwara is India's poly-viscose suiting cluster, which is why departmental khaki programs across the country are woven and finished here.

That matters on a force order for one reason: repeatability. Because the weave and the shade recipe stay with us, a reorder placed two years after the first lot goes back to the same construction and the same approved khaki reference, so new issue matches uniforms already in service. What police uniform cloth is made of

Nearly every Indian force program specifies poly-viscose. Polyester carries the strength, crease retention and wash fastness; viscose keeps the cloth breathable and comfortable through a long shift. All-cotton khaki fades, shrinks and creases under the laundering a duty uniform gets, which is why departments moved to PV blends and stayed there.

The weave does as much work as the blend. A tight twill or structured matty resists abrasion at seats, knees and cuffs, and holds the sharp line a force uniform is expected to keep on parade and on patrol.

Khaki shades: stock and custom

"Khaki" is not one colour. Departments run from light sand to deep olive-brown, and the exact shade belongs to the force, not the mill. For trouser and jacket cloth the shade is dyed to your approved reference and we hold the lot on file, so reorders match the uniforms already issued. For shirting we hold ready khakis from light through dark on the shade card, across our Commander PV Ultima, Spun Shirting and Glacier Soft Lycra lines.

State and central force programs

Whether the requirement is for a state police force in UP, MP, Rajasthan or Delhi, a home-guard or reserve unit, traffic and patrol wings, or a central force such as the CRPF, the fabric brief is the same: the departmental khaki reference, a duty-weight construction, and a mill that can repeat both on every reorder.

Each department or force fixes its own shade reference, and two neighbouring states can both call their cloth khaki and be visibly different colours, from a light sand to a deep olive-brown.

We do not publish or claim any force's official shade specification. What we work from is your reference: a swatch from uniforms already in service, the shade standard issued with a tender, or a garment cut from the approved lot. We dye to that reference, submit lab dips for sign-off, and hold the approved lot on file so the next order matches the last one.

Summer and winter police uniform cloth

The trouser cloth rarely changes with the season: a 215-235 GSM PV twill or matty is worn year round because it has to hold a crease and resist abrasion. What changes is the shirt. For hot months and hot regions, a lighter PV shirting in the 120-160 GSM band breathes better; for cooler months or cooler postings, jackets and tunics in a 210-230 GSM structured suiting carry the extra weight. Send three things: your shade reference (swatch, shade standard or tender clause), the garments and quantities, and whether the order is for a department, a tender bid or a uniform maker's stock. Stock shirting khakis ship from 50 m per shade. Trouser and jacket cloth dyed to a departmental khaki is woven to order from 500 m per shade, after lab dip approval. Every lot is checked for shade, GSM, width and fastness before dispatch, and the approved lot stays on file for reorders. Price is on request against your shade and quantity.
