Manufacturing police uniform fabric in Bhilwara

We are a mill, not a trading house. Greige cloth for police uniform programs is woven on our own looms at Village Atoon, Bhilwara, and dyeing, processing and finishing run through partnered Bhilwara processing houses we have worked with for years. Bhilwara is India's poly-viscose suiting cluster, which is why departmental khaki programs across the country are woven and finished here.

That matters on a force order for one reason: repeatability. Because the weave and the shade recipe stay with us, a reorder placed two years after the first lot goes back to the same construction and the same approved khaki reference, so new issue matches uniforms already in service. Benny Cotts is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and lots are checked for shade, GSM, width and fastness before dispatch.

What police uniform cloth is made of

Nearly every Indian force program specifies poly-viscose. Polyester carries the strength, crease retention and wash fastness; viscose keeps the cloth breathable and comfortable through a long shift. All-cotton khaki fades, shrinks and creases under the laundering a duty uniform gets, which is why departments moved to PV blends and stayed there.

The weave does as much work as the blend. A tight twill or structured matty resists abrasion at seats, knees and cuffs, and holds the sharp line a force uniform is expected to keep on parade and on patrol.

"Khaki" is not one colour. Departments run from light sand to deep olive-brown, and the exact shade belongs to the force, not the mill. For trouser and jacket cloth we dye to your approved reference and hold the lot on file, so reorders match the uniforms already issued. For shirting we hold ready khakis from light through dark on the shade card, across our Commander PV Ultima, Spun Shirting and Glacier Soft Lycra lines.
