Quality & Process Control

Testing protocols backed by clear scope.

We weave at our own unit in Atoon, Bhilwara, and work with established regional processing partners for dyeing and finishing. Every batch is evaluated against an approved master standard before despatch.

In-House Weaving Unit

Atoon, Bhilwara, Rajasthan

Our primary weaving facility operates double-width Sulzer looms and shuttleless weaving machinery. In-house weaving allows direct floor control over warp tension, pick count, weave structure, and raw greige fabric width.

Processing & Dyeing Partners

Bhilwara Processing Hub

Dyeing, finishing and sanforising run through processing houses in Bhilwara that we have worked with over time, not through whichever unit has capacity that week. Lots run against an approved lab dip and a physical standard swatch.

The 4 Core Quality Evaluation Steps

Every production lot undergoes four fundamental verification steps before passing final mill inspection.

1. Composition

The fibre blend is confirmed against the spec sheet, since every other property is judged relative to it. A 65/35 poly-viscose and a 70/30 do not behave the same way under a hot wash.

2. GSM and weight tolerance

A swatch is cut and weighed to confirm the finished fabric sits inside its stated weight range, rather than close enough to pass by eye.

3. Colour fastness and shade lock

The dyed batch is checked against washing, light and rubbing, and matched to the physical reference standard held for that shade, so a reorder is judged against the original rather than against the last delivery.

4. Dimensional stability and shrinkage

A swatch is measured before and after a standard wash cycle to confirm warp and weft movement stays inside the finished tolerance, before the cloth reaches a cutting table.

What we hold, and what we do not

Benny Cotts is ISO 9001:2015 certified for our quality management system. That is a certificate covering how we run our processes within a defined scope. It is not a product certification, and it is not a laboratory accreditation.

We do not hold a third-party lab accreditation of our own, so we describe our testing process here rather than presenting our checks as accredited results. Where a programme or a tender requires accredited test results, the testing is routed to an independent accredited laboratory and we supply the sample length.

Weaving happens at our own unit in Atoon. Dyeing and finishing run through processing partners in Bhilwara. Final batch approval is measured against the master swatch held on file for every running shade and custom programme.
