Uniform fabric for the youngest students
Benny Cotts weaves uniform fabric on our own looms at Village Atoon, Bhilwara, with dyeing, processing and finishing through partnered Bhilwara processing houses. For playschools, pre-primary sections and Montessori programs we supply light, soft cloth for pinafores, shorts, frocks and shirts.
Small children sit on the floor, paint, play outside and need a fresh uniform almost every day. The fabric has to feel soft, wash easily at home and keep its size and colour, so a uniform bought at admission still fits and matches later in the year.
What kindergarten uniform fabric is made of
A light poly-viscose or poly-cotton blend works for most pre-school uniforms. Both feel softer than heavy suiting, dry quickly and hold colour through daily washing. A lighter weight keeps small children comfortable in warm classrooms.

FAQ
Fabric for Pre-School & Kindergarten Uniforms: common questions
- What is the best fabric for kindergarten uniforms?
- A light, soft poly-viscose or poly-cotton blend around 150-210 GSM. It feels gentle, washes easily at home and keeps its size and colour.
- Is cotton better for pre-school uniforms?
- Cotton feels cool, but it fades, creases and shrinks faster with daily washing. A soft poly-cotton or poly-viscose blend gives similar comfort and lasts longer.
- What is the minimum order for a small playschool?
- Stock shades start at 50 m per shade, so even a small playschool can order. Custom shades start at 500 m per shade.
- How much fabric do we need for a kindergarten uniform?
- Small sizes use much less cloth than school sizes. Share your garment list and size mix and we will help estimate the metres.
- Nursery uniform ke liye soft kapda kaunsa hai?
- Nursery aur KG ke liye halka poly-cotton ya poly-viscose kapda sabse accha hai. Yeh bachchon ki skin par soft lagta hai, ghar par aasani se dhul jata hai aur size aur rang hold karta hai.
- Which fabrics work best for pre-school & kindergarten uniforms?
- We recommend Cambery, Sonata, Benzer Special and School Check Plain, each suited to the demands of pre-school & kindergarten uniforms. Every fabric ships with spec and MOQ.

- Can you match a specific shade for pre-school & kindergarten uniforms?
- Yes. Custom shades are matched to your approved standard and woven to order from 500 m per shade, then held as a dye lot so reorders stay consistent.
