What lab coat cloth is made of
Most reusable lab coats today are polyester or poly-viscose, not pure cotton. Polyester carries the strength and keeps the white from greying through hot, frequent washing; viscose adds breathability so the coat is comfortable over clothes all day. Pure cotton feels soft at first but shrinks, creases and yellows sooner under institutional laundry.
A plain weave around 185-215 GSM gives the clean, structured face a lab coat is expected to have. Go heavier, toward a twill, only when the coat needs more body. We are a mill. Lab coat cloth is woven on our own looms at Village Atoon, Bhilwara, and dyeing, processing and finishing run through partnered Bhilwara processing houses. Benny Cotts is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and lots are checked for shade, GSM and width before dispatch.
